Bili is a local drink found during Vieque Island's Carnival Patronales and summer celebrations. It is rum that has been fermented with Quenepas. Quenepas are added to white rum along with vanilla, brown sugar, cinnamon, etc. and then is stored in a dark place for about 1 month. The Quenepa is a small edible tropical fruit with green leathery skin and sweet juicy translucent pulp that grows locally and typically ripens during the summer.
